Crypto token-powered Taki social network's got some issues to be fixed

Taki, the new crypto rewards-based social network seems to be achieving big traction. It’s been several weeks now since the social network let me after being on the waiting list. My Taki or $TAKI earnings look tremendously good. There are also some mature, decent followers, which is even better.

You can register directly as a Taki user and start earning cryptos by clicking on this link if you don’t want to be in the waiting list. Right now, the engage-to-earn social network is invite-only.

The Taki crypto token is reportedly to be registered on crypto exchanges soon. Taki is built on the Solana blockchain. The developers launched Taki’s mainnet in Februaru 2022 with approximately 3 billion $TAKI tokens that were created. The Taki are split between engage-to-earn rewards, ecosystem fund, development teams, investors, and for the public token sale, which I believe will be soon. It is reported that the initial supply is fixed for one year, after which future issuance decisions will be made by the Taki DAO.

So far, my Taki earnings from buying other usercoins or $UCOIN are more than Rs 2,000 (approximately $ 26.14). The earning mark-ups increase even more whenever other users buy your unique $UCOIN. I know for sure there a lot of people earning much, much more because they hold a lot more of Taki, other $UCOIN or are completing serious tasks. I saw one user whose usercoin was worth about Rs. 40 (approximately $ 0.52). The earnings are what really make having a Taki account interesting.

However, as much as it is fun and the rewards are everything to love, Taki is new and there still are some issues its developers need to work out. But considering I’d been seeing new features and changes in browsing functionalities, I believe Taki’s developers are already doing a great job.

These are some of the issues:

·        Buy transactions

When the system is good, tou can buy usercoins or $UCOIN faster, and it’s faster now. But there often are times that transactions are slow and keep pending. The downtimes are not regular but it is generally often enough. That said, I think it is Solana and not the website itself that’s causing the transaction issues.

·        Notifications

Right now, there seems to be a teeny weeny bug on the notification marker. Generally, when you get notifications on social media websites, there will be a small marker that shows you have new activity to check out.

These markers are usually in the form of numbers (Like the notification markers on Facbook). In the case of Taki, there is color marker, a red dot.

I have used Taki app on my phone too. Once the notifications have been checked, the red dot disappears, indicating that you have seen the alerts.

But on the website version, Taki’s notification marker is still red. It is annoying because every time I have to click on it thinking there is new activity for me when there actually are none. It’s not a major issue, but it certainly is tremendously annoying.

·        Trash

Semi-nudes and too much cleavage and trash talkers for a social network website. There seem to be some people that constantly post NSFW images either to attract Gold Taki (Users give Gold Taki to posts they like, which increases your earnings) or simply to get pervy. We have complained to the developers that this NSFW posts on the feed need to be checked. There aren’t many options to block such content except flag them. How many times are you to flag them anyway?

Update: According to the status update of Kevin Chou, co-founder of Taki, the platform’s newsfeed will be ‘evolving soon.'

'Taki will be highlighting the best content and users. In general, the feed will be highlighting users who are earning a lot (of) Gold Taki and have a high UserCoin value,' he said in the update.

·        Blocking

Talking about blocking pervs and online abusers, there is no such feature. There are people who get sleazy or abusive on Taki. If this is not checked soon, it might be difficult for new users to join if bad press gets to them. Dear Taki developers, Taki app needs a blocking feature. This is fundamental, and non-negotiable.

·       Tagging

Generally on social media, when one replies to a person, say on Facebook, there is an auto scroll or an auto fill showing the name of the person you are replying to. But on Taki, when you need to tag a person or mention them, you need that person’s @handle name, not his display name. This is not automatically fulfilled. The display name doesn't work for tags.

So, one has to go all the way to the person’s profile and check his @username. This is really inconvenient if you are a passionate social network user who is constantly interacting. You don’t want a hundred tabs open on your browser every time you want to reply or mention a person!

I have suggested this to Taki’s developers and one of them, Kevin, said to be working on this feature. It will be great.

·        Logouts

Searching for the ‘log out’ button on Taki is like going on a treasure hunt. It’s not in an easily accessible place such as on the top of your profile or on the side bars. You have to go to the top right of your profile, click on your username, click on the settings tab and scroll down to the bottom where the ‘Log out’ button is.

Am I being petty? No, just that ease of navigation and use is what any social network user will love.

Messaging

Right now, Taki app doesn’t have a messaging feature but I believe it will have one soon. You can only comment and interact in the comments section. This can be a bother especially if you know someone on Taki who you want to talk about things that’s not for everyone else.

These issues aside, I am really enjoying using Taki. Let’s hope that the social network makes it big.

Proceeds from the IEO will benefit the TAKI DAO's community treasury.

How to increase your Taki crypto rewards from Daily Tasks on Taki App

Cryptocurrencies like Taki are a rage. Photo by David McBee What are the ways to increase the number of your Taki? This post is primarily only for those with fewer number of Takis or have already used them up here and want to accumulate your Takis from available earning options here.       This is one is for those spending Takis left, right and centre. You won’t be able to give or receive if you use them up too fast. Of course, there will be people who might give you some, but it’s not like they will give you 100 Takis every time you post.   We’ll talk about the buy-and-sell aspects some other time in a different post.   For now, there are three main ways here to increase your Taki size:       (1)     Converting your usercoin to Taki       (2)     Completing your daily tasks to earn 10 Takis       (3)     Receiving Takis from other users.   To increase your Taki from option (1) will be a bit difficult because it requires a long-term strategy that demands more effort lik
